mission [our purpose]
our mission is to lead people to become fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ.
vision [what we are becoming]
a diverse community of believers sent into our city, our culture, on mission with Jesus to transform Nashville by the power of the gospel. a missional community generous in sending people and resources to see Jesus’ Kingdom extend into all the world.
history [where we've been]
lifehouse church began with a handful of people from newfrontiers churches purposefully moving to the nashville area. along with a shared vision and passion for Jesus, we had caught a glimpse of the indescribable beauty and power of the local church working right.
in september of 2002, lifehouse was launched and began working primarily among late teens and early twenties. the church initially met at the franklin ymca on sunday evenings, then moved to building 8 at the factory on saturday nights. word-of-mouth spread and the member base broadened; people were saved, baptized, and added to the new community. in october of 2005, lifehouse finally found a space to call its own and held our first ever sunday morning meeting.
today we are a diverse group attracting young and old, college students and construction workers, single and married. the gathered church is the most exciting place on earth!
leadership [who we're following]
john privett is the pastor/lead elder of lifehouse church. he moved with his wife, michelle, and two kids, heather and greg, to nashville in 2001 to begin preparation for the launch of lifehouse church. john enjoys hanging out with michelle, grabbing a coffee, playing tennis and is credited with starting nerf wars.
